Privacy Policy — BW VoIP

BW VoIP (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is developed by Black n White Studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our SIP-based dialer application BW VoIP.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide VoIP calling functionality and to maintain app stability and quality.
- Account / credentials: SIP username and password or phone number required for registration with your SIP provider.
- Contacts: If you grant permission, your device contacts are read to display contact names when calling or receiving calls.
- Audio input: Microphone access for live audio during calls (the app does not record or store call audio persistently).
- Device & network information: IP address, network type, device model, OS version, and app version to help maintain connectivity and troubleshoot issues.
- Call metadata: Call status, call duration, and call quality metrics for diagnostics and improving service reliability.
2. Permissions and Why We Need Them
The app requests the following Android permissions. Each permission is used solely to enable core VoIP functionality or for user notifications and experience.

android.permission.WAKE_LOCK | Keeps the device awake during an active call to prevent interruption. |
android.permission.READ_CONTACTS | Shows contact names and numbers in the dialer if you grant access. |
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC | Allows stable background operation (foreground service) for call handling. |
android.permission.USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT | Allows incoming call screen to appear when the app is in the background. |
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Sends incoming call, missed call, and other user notifications. |
android.permission.VIBRATE | Provides vibration feedback for incoming calls and notifications. |
3. How We Use Your Information
Information collected is used to:
- Register and authenticate with your SIP provider and enable VoIP calls.
- Display contact names and match numbers to your contacts.
- Maintain call quality and connectivity (including reconnection attempts when network changes).
- Show incoming call UI and send notifications for missed/incoming calls.
- Diagnose and fix technical issues reported by users.
4. Data Storage & Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. Credentials and any sensitive information should be stored securely by the SIP provider or the user; the app avoids storing credentials in plain text. Communications between the app and SIP servers should be encrypted using secure transport (for example, TLS/SRTP) when supported by your SIP provider.
Audio privacy: BW VoIP does not record call audio or store call recordings on our servers. Live audio data is transmitted only for the duration of the call to the remote endpoint (peer or SIP server).
5. Third-Party Services
By default, BW VoIP does not include analytics, advertising SDKs, or trackers. If third-party services are added in the future (for analytics or crash reporting), users will be informed and given a choice where required by law.
6. Children
This app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- You can revoke app permissions from your device settings at any time (for example microphone or contacts).
- Uninstalling the app stops all app-side data collection.
- If you use a SIP provider, any data stored by that provider is subject to the provider’s privacy policy — please review it separately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
